I would like to start collecting some Abbot & Costello movies, particularly the monster series "A & C meet the Mummy" etc. While searching the net I noticed that very few A & C movies have been remastered.

In fact the only two titles I have found remastered so far are "Jack & the Beanstalk" and "African Screams". Now I realise that the original prints may make it difficult for pristine restoration, but surely there would've been more out there by now ? Can anyone recommend some pretty reasonable DVDs featuring A & C that have acceptable picture quality ?

RE A&C - try and find a recording of their famous "Who's on first" sketch. Absolute class.

The fanchise collection out on R1 are okay.

    8 movies in each volume.

Who on First comes from the film The Naughty Nineties this is on Volume 2.
    Volume 3 contains the A&C Meet ......

Volume 1 and 2 are priced at about 9 pounds from DVD Pacific, volume 3 is about 13 pounds.

I have all 3 volumes of the region 1 'The Best Of Abbot & Costello' collection, 24 films in total  :D :D and the picture quality is absolutely fantastic

The 3rd one includes some of their universal monster series:
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (the best one)
Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man
Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff

I really recommend you check these out :smashin:

You can also buy 'Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy' separately on region 1

I also have the uk release : Abbott And Costello Laugh-A-Thon , which contains Africa Screams and Jack and the Beanstalk, although the picture quality isn't that great on either, also it contains a few of their tv shows on another disc, which made it worth getting.
