Went into Jessops to take a look at the 40D today and fell in love instantly. Told that they'd let me have the 40D with 18-85 IS for £999.99.
Came home to think it over, didnt take long to decide that I'd get it.
Looking for a couple of utility bills (for the 12mth interest free arrangement) and stumbled across my Mrs' credity card statement:thumbsdow Ok, so its not massive, but considering that i had thought that I had factored everything into how to pay for the 40D, this was a nasty surprise. Add to that another CC balance and overdraft, and I'm not so sure.
Determined to upgrade from my 350D, but need to be comfortable taking on an additional £1000 debt.

    Rant over!

Well, it now seems that the Mrs is in the process of resolving the problem which means I can get the 40D after all.

Would have liked to keep the 350D as backup / for the Mrs to use, but needs must and its up on fleabay as of 10 minutes ago.

My local Jessops isn't open on Sundays so I'll have to wait until next weekend now. :(

That's only a few quid off their full price, they have a £25 off on line this weekend or play.com for £970 plus some more off for quidco....

True, but to be able to go and pick it up from a shop rather than waiting for it to be posted is worth the few extra ££££'s.
Sure, if there was a significant difference (£50+) then I could be tempted.

Also, Jessops offer 12 month interest free (same as Warehouse Express). I'm pretty sure that the likes of Play dont.

With Jessops you can opt to collect it in store - great option. You get the online prices and discount, but the security of collecting in (and returing to!) a store.

Also - try some codes to get a better deal (I used these last week but not sure if they are valid now - try them and see):

SALE40 - will get you £40 off on orders over £800
    or
SALE50 - gets you £50 off on orders over £1000

    Also- use affiliate codes:
FREEINDEX will get you an additional 5% off (may be restricted though).
    or
    WEBEX24

    Worth a shot.
