How does the A9 processor compare to the A7 .
      I.e. processor in 2018 models like C8 Vs 2017 models like B7/C7/E7?

      I understand B8 will also have A7/2017 processor .

Specifically, how does the Web OS compare?

For example, I did try out a C7 and found the web os to sometimes take a moment to respond. I.e. it did feel a bit slow to respond.

Wondering how much of a difference C8 makes with A9 in this regard. Anybody with experience of both?

Isn't the A7 dual core where the A9 is quad core?

I'm not sure if the B8 has the A7 or A9...

So the A7 isn’t really a 2017 processor - 2017 processor was the M16, and has been redesigned and has become the A7. It is a regular tv processor, fitted to LGs SuperUHD range too. The A9 is a new OLED dedicated processor, with 4 step noise reduction (2 step in A7, HFR support, image identification and blur stabilisation. A9 is fitted to everything C8 and above, and the B8 (Currys exclusive), and the B8s (John Lewis et al from September) gets the A7. At current prices with cashback on the C8 now making the 55 2200 and 65 2500, the C8 is definitely the better buy.

      Hope this helps

      Hadn’t seen that

But would be nervous about using the discount, as the LG cashback t and c specifically precludes discounts or promotions from stores - has to be full price.

      Hopefully not the case

      Fantastic answer.

Would be good to do some real world benchmarking comparing the processors.

PS - where did you get the information - could not find it anywhere officially from LG etc.

I suspect it’ll be the tv to watch for BF this year, as he suggested it will undercut the Panasonic fz800 on price. Currys apparently have the b8 already as exclusive, the B8s (different stand) will be everywhere else from September time. Any more questions just shout !

Well the A7 is what was on last years TVs, the A9 is all new and the C8 is much better than the B8 as a result.
