As I understand it, when I operate the test tone feature on my A11SR, the reference level (0db) is set at –30db below Dolby Digital’s level of 105db and 115db for the sub.

I calibrate my speaker using a SPL meter to 75db. I also set then sub at 75db. As the sub peak output according to DD is 115db, should I be setting the sub to 85db instead of 75db?

I guess what I’m asking is, the amp internal test tones for the speakers allow them to be set at 75db, but does it compensate for the additional 10db for the sub?

    Thanks

As far as I´m aware, yes it does. Balance all your channels to 75db including the sub. Although feel free to set the sub channel to where you think it sounds best as some people prefer higher settings. Its down to personal taste in the end.:)
