A weird thing happened at the cinema last night

And that thing is...... I managed to enjoy a film for once. We know its been said all before regarding all the gimps that make so much noise ruining it for everyone. But it was a film i was expecting to hate and came out liking. It was a film my lass has wanted to see for i while so i let her choose what to see. There is only so much sex and violence she can watch  And the film was pride and predudice  Now i normally get bored to death with this type of film so i was shocked to find i liked it. Strange thing is the place was packed with not many free seats left. But looking around i must have been one of the youngest in there. Even at the age of 25. But to my shock everyone was quiet. No talking, nothing but laughter from everyone when something funny happened. So i ended up forgetting everyone was there and managed to get absorbed into the film and managing to like it. And i thought to myself that i could not remember the last time that happened  And thought how many films have you not enjoyed because of the usual problems and then given them a second try at home by renting it. Then finding you like that said film. Just got to take bets now on how long it will be before i actually get to enjoy a film like that with so many people who actually want to see the film too :( Its a rare experience in my book unfortuantly :(

I saw the premier of Scream with a packed house.
You could feel the tension in the house during the starting scene. No noise at all, just as if everyone one was holding their breath........just like me!

All seats in the cinema should be wired up to the mains and anyone who makes to much noise gets a jolt.....and Id like to apply for the job :)

A man after my own heart.
It drives me mad. It gets so that you're anticipating it, so you're on edge even when the morons are taking a break.

Yeah just got back from seeing Land Of The Dead and i have never seen so many young girls and women constantly going in and out to take calls on their bloody phones. How about if they make too much noise the chairs they are sitting on just disappear into the floor taking them with it. And if its a bunch of chavs just take their entrance fee then kick them straight out with out giving them a chance.

I feel that people that use mobile phones in cinema should have them placed somewhere safe until the movie is over. Preferably in one of their available orifices. :D

Jonathan Ross had people e-mailing his Radio show at the weekend with their cinema and theatre going horror stories.

Two of the more outrageous stories included some poor guy that was seated in front of a row of foreign patrons with a couple of people translating the entire movie for them, and a couple that arrived late at the Opera and proceeded to tuck into a Burger King and fries in the middle of the performance!

Racquel - have you bought your big telly yet?

I had a couple of foreigners talking behind me while i watching SAW(cannot wait for SAW II) till i could stand no more and for the first time in my life turned round and kindly told them to "Shut The F*** UP" they certainly understood my french ;) But i must admit i generally keep quiet and put up with it even though i should not have to.

You must NEVER put up with it. A psychotic growl and some swearing usually shuts the bastards up!

Nop!
I'm waiting for the new Sagem 45 with two HDMI inputs.
Then I'll make a decision and go for it!

I get this sort of annoying thing happen at the local multiplex, which is why I have taken to going to the smarter/expensive cinemas instead. The two Curzons (mayfair & soho) are wonderful.

Chavscum-free zones! Not a single person brought food or drink into the picture hall. There aren't any cup holders either. Plenty of legroom too. Economy class this ain't!

That'll be a cool option - they've removed the "frosty screen" effect that was on the the last 45" model. Wasn't a major detriment but this new 45" should be better still.

I know, I know... :offtopic:
