I've got a number of media streamers, collected in my search for one which fits my needs better.

I have rather poor vision, to the point where it's difficult for me to read filenames on my bedside TV screen (and I already have a 22in screen, about the biggest it's reasonable to have by my bedside).

So what I'm looking for is a player which displays file lists at, say, 6-8 lines per page, in a decent-sized typeface.

Ideally, a customizable Ui would be great, but I guess that's asking too much.

Any suggestions for a suitable player appreciated, with screenshots of the UI if possible, before my wife throws another wobbly because I've bought yet *another* streamer to see if it will fit the bill...

    TIA

Would a post view be better so you are looking at a picture?
There are a number that offer this.
It takes quite a lot of effort but some PC software such as XBMC can have customised skins.

Yeah something running XBMC is probably your best bet here.

reFocus Big skin has large text (frodo is one for current official xbmc release), but another option might xtv-saf which you will find within the XBMC add-on\skin repository, this is a skin based off the old AppleTV 1 UI it has high visibility just black with white text and about 6 items on screen in list mode. You can also zoom and adjust the font type used but not the size.

Some skins have a big list mode too but I cant recall the exact ones.

If you have a PC or laptop spare try installing XBMC on it and hook it up to the TV to get a taste for it, there are various boxes you can buy that can run XBMC so the PC isnt needed.

Thanks guys - I have a Boxee Box sitting here unused, which can run XBMC so I'll give that a whirl.

Let me see if I can find my skin I made for eversion for the pch models. it had a screen that looked like this

It was borrowed from the xbmc night skin with minimal tweaking you can make the font and items as big as you like

what you need is an easy to skin jukebox.

XBMC is very good for that indeed.

If you have a dune (any model) or a mede8er (600/800/1000x3d) somewhere you can also test yadis and try one of the templates with 5x2 cover wall (that makes really big covers very easy to read), check here if you find something you like : yaDIS 2 - Templates (files and pics only !) - MPC Club Community Board

Oops! - try again - I've never owned a Dune or a Mede8ter, but I have a Boxee Box gathering dust somewhere which can run XBMC so I'll try that.
