    Hi all

I know this is probably old hat for you all but I just watched (nay endured) the so-called movie 'Van Helsing' on Dvd today.

This is got to be the worst movie in just about every respect I have EVER seen !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never been moved to post negatively about any movie but this utter dross has no redeeming features what so ever and in fact I cant believe I managed to endure it to the end.........l.

Mind you as a horror movie it will indeed give me nightmares :)

    Short rant over

it's just a popcorn movie, i found it to be quite fun, you just have to switch your brain off for a couple of hours.

    A true horror, I agree.

Poor script and performances throughout, leaden direction, awful SFX, and a complete lack of imagination and fun (which is probably its biggest failing, given the characters and setting available to the director and writers).

Still in my 'to watch' pile, as long as it passes 2 hours of my life with a bit of fun I'll be content. :)

way too many cgi shots. If ever there was a film where less would have been more, this is it. Great idea, good cast - no involvement whatsoever. I really liked the Jekyll/Hyde at the start (better than the one in LXG) but then the film just carried on as one long video game. Boring Boring Boring. No subtlety at all. Should have been really good. Saw at the flicks, borrowed it on DVD 3 months ago and have not watched it yet as memories of it so bad. I normally like brain off movies but this is rubbish

Van Helsing ain't a horror flick but it is an enjoyable popcorn movie, i actually thought the CGI backgrounds looked fabulous in this movie ( watched on a large 106 inch screen ) i'll forgive its shortcomings cos i was busy ogling Kate Beckinsale ( yum )

I tought it was a Spy Kids Vampire movie. The scene at the end with the vial totally ruined this movie for me. The broken bride and the rope slidey thing (I hope you know what I mean). I can take cheesy but this was shat. :thumbsdow

What a waste of cash and cast. Worst still I bought this movie. Not to be seen again I fear. :suicide:

I loved Van Helsing. I am vampire crazy but besides that seeing Kate Beckinsale running around in those clothes is reason enough to watch it. The worst horror movie I have ever seen is Alone In The Dark with Steven Dorf and Christian Slater. My IQ dropped with 50 points after seeing that movie and I threatend to kill my friend for wasting my time...

yes it is dreadful.....but not quite as bad as the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.......that really is diaboliocal tripe with Sean Connery at his very worst.
