i use my pc for watching videos and music a lot but it isn't a true htpc. its a regular pc that happens to have a lot of media on it, is there anything out there that could be used as a remote for it? i know my phone can just about do it (sony k700i) but its not very good, ideally i would love a tablet style remote that could remote the pc fully? if thats not possible a regular remote that can control everything a keyboard and mouse could do? i don't even know if such an item exists but if it does i guess this is the place to ask, thanks in advance for any reccomendations.

Does anybody know if you can just use the IR reciever with these Maplin items/similar or just purchase the reciever separately, as i want to use my Harmony 655 as the remote to control the PC.

I have asked Harmony CSS "is possible to purchase the USB IR dongle ONLY from a Logitech OEM Ultrax Media Remote and utilise MediaLife 2005 to convert my PC to a MCE sort of machine using my 655?" Still waiting for a response.

The IMON knob looks good but is expensive ~£40!
