A Question Regarding the PDP-LX5090 set.

Hello mates :),

I would like to consult with you regarding the supplied remote control of the PDP-LX5090 set.

Is the PDP-LX5090 set always supplied with the same remote control model, or could a case where it would be supplied with a compatible model occur? (For example, one which generally belongs to the KRP model family.)

I purchased the PDP-LX5090 set (from a parallel importer.), and it arrived with remote control model AXD1570 (KRP model, as far as I know.), while on many internet reviews the remote model is different - model AXD1564.

Is this known to you? Were any of you supplied with a different remote control too?

Cheers. :)

I do not know which remote is normally supplied with the 5090, but I can confirm that the AXD1570 is the remote that came with my UK manufactured KRP.

Indeed, my TV is "Made in UK", so could it be that UK manufactured sets are in short of 5090 remote controls and therefore are supplied with the KRP one?

The main reason I ask is that I suspect the set was on display in store.

The set arrived packed all nicely inside a genuine Pioneer cardboard, though when I unpacked it I noticed the TV sticker (100Hz etc..) was not on the TV itself, but inside the manual book. Also, there was a bit of dust between the panel and the screen itself. (In two lower corners.)

Hence I thought the unmatched remote control was another evidence.

The store says it's a genuine new set, but it agrees to replace it with another one if I wish.

Would you worry if you had the same signs as above after purchasing a new set, or should I believe the store?

Cheers. :)

If it were me and they are happy to swap - I certainly would.

The remote would not be an issue to me, but the stickers and dust etc doesn't sound norma if it were brand newl. Was the box freshly sealed or re-taped?

I agree with ahaydock, if they are willing to replace the screen then go for that. There should not be dust inside an unopened box and the stickers should be on the panel's bezel.
