Hi, im thinking about buying one of these units and I have a question......

My current philips dvdr75 passes rgb through from its scart 2 to scart 1 when it is in standby no trouble. Just wondering if someone could confirm that the Toshiba RD-XS34 will do the same when it is in standby, also with this machine record widescreen flags correctly as my current philips one does this perfect. Thanks in advance, and a quick response would be appreciated as i am thinking about buying tommorow!!!

cool thats good then, is it just like you have the machine in stanby and it will pass rgb through or do you have to press a button or anything? finally a weird question which you may not know the answer....

can it pass rgb through it whilst recording off its internal tuner as this is kinda a must have for the amount of money i will be paying. Thanks in advance again, Jamie.

It has a "Sat Mon" button on the remote which you press.

hmmm thanks for your prompt replies sorry for being a pain!! This could be a bit of a problem then.. i would be connecting my sky up to the recorders av2 and the av1 out of the recorder to the tv so its vital for that like loopthrough to always be active, what could be annoying though is having to press the sat mon button everytime i want to watch the sky. Do you have to press sat mon everytime the recorder is put into standby or does it always pass it through? Sorry for all the questions!
