    Hello everyone.

I've just received my Toshiba 32zd26p from John Lewis and have noticed a minor problem. Mostly it's not a problem, but during films wider than 16:9 and when a bar goes all the way across the TV such as sky news, the tv looks like it needs rotating clockwise a little. Here is an exagerated example:

Is this the sort of thing that can be sorted by messing with some hidden menu style settings? Does anyone know which ones exactly?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Can't this be corrected from the menu ? I can rotate the image from my Sony menu.

I think you can rotate the 36" version but not the 32" that I have.

Yes, crazy as it may seem, you can rotate the picture on the 36" but NOT the 32". It's under Geomagnetic Adjustment on page 12 of the manual. It clearly says 36ZD26P only. I checked this out when researching a new TV, by downloading the Toshiba user manual from:

    http://tesc.toshiba.co.uk/Web/Website.nsf

[click "customer access" and then it takes you to a page where you type in model numbers]

    Hiya,

Yep! I've got the 32zt29b and I've the same trouble. I'm having the engineer round tomorrow (Monday), to hopefully put it right. You can't put this right via the service menu, it must be done by an engineer, which really is dumb. Also, seeing that you can alter it via the TV's menu on the 36" version.

    Toshiba, that sucked!!!

It'd be real great if you let me know how this goes, and how he actually goes about fixing it.

    Thanks.

Did the engineer manage to sort your set, John-D?

Hiya Tony, sorry for the late reply!

The service man came round today (Tuesday), but when i had moved my left, right & centre speakers away, the TV corrected itself.

This isn't the end of the matter tho'

    Take a look here.

The HSC control, moves the picture in an S shape from left to right and vice-versa. It still doesn't tilt the screen, this really has to be done by the engineer. :(

He's got to physically move the Red, Green & Blue guns inside the set, to give it the correct tilt. Or so he said!

I'm finding my TV to be really magnetically sensitive....BUMMER!!!

    John

PS. Tony, if you have Speakers sitting near the TV, try moving them to see if this clears the problem.
