Jeremy Clarkson again! Funny though...he wasn't lying.
I think he is just addicted to being the centre of attention. He hasn't had anything interesting to say for years but still thinks he is an opinion maker or similar.
The only opinions people have are that the man is a professional buffoon. He has become a parody of everything that is sad and pathetic about the British Media.
Completely agree with you...but I still blew my Vimto out of my nostrils when I read it.
That's just clarkson through and through and thats why we like him so much is that he says exactly what he thinks and will never back down.
....is the fact that whenever a celeb opens their mouth and says something that someone, somewhere doesn't like that it gets reported as 'news'.
And the remarks have upset the Royal National Institute of Blind People.
What next, a disabled charity getting upset at references to things like one-armed bandit? Didn't have a leg to stand on? etc etc.
I despair on occasions at the PC-mad world (Britain) we live in.
It was bad enough listening to him giving his opinions on how to save the car industry but even worse when others started to quote him as if he were a manufacturing guru just because he makes a living driving expensive cars round a track.
I don't suppose that anyone heard that amusing sketch on radio 4 this morning about a girl who wanted to marry a buffoon called Clarkson who was absolutely useless at everything except driving cars round a track
That's your opinion.
His books, which often don't mention cars at all, are amongst the best-sellers every year.
I look forward to them, they often make me laugh out loud, whether I agree with him or not.
It makes me hopping mad !!!!!!
but what he says is true imo!
kudos to JC yet again
and before the pc crowd get on my case - my father only has vision in one eye and my mate has a plastic eyeball - his party piece being dropping it into somebody's pint!!
What's all the fuss? He was telling the truth.
Oh, sorry now I get what all the furore is about, it's because JC works for the [-] Nu Labour Propaganda Bureau[/-] BBC
Well, I like Clarkson, and hate prejudice.
He should be told that he's gone too far, and be given the opportunity to apologise.
Please note, not apologise for disagreeing with Brown, or for using strong 'humorous' language, but for couching his statement in a way which is unacceptably offensive.
The fact that Brown has one eye has nothing to do with his policies, nor their validity, nor JC's opinions about them.
and you now now why Browns policies are myopic
I bet Gordon never saw that coming...
I'll get my coat
lol u guys
i dont see how this is offensive
one-eyed - technically accurate
Scottish - statement of fact and not insulting
idiot - this is where it falls down, its deeply offensive to idiots to compare gordo to them
I hope he's keeping an eye on the economy.
I see Clarkson has apologised for the one-eyed bit of his comment.
Jeremy Clarkson apologises to Prime Minister after calling him a 'one-eyed Scottish idiot' | Mail Online
The poor old Daily Mail doesn't know how to handle this one. On the one hand, there's another highly paid BBC presenter making an allegedly controversial remark, but on the other hand, it's derogatory about Gordon Brown. Do they call for Clarkson's sacking or demand he be made Prime Minister? Bless 'em.
Fair play to JC - he's apologised, and I think that should be the end of it, unless GB wants to take it further, which he won't.
the daily mail just needs to read its response and how many green arrows are pro clarkson's statement, 90% by the looks of it
It is a racist statement I'm afraid.
I'm not offended by it, even as a scot myself, but I can see why people could be.
Rather than just using the word 'idiot' he has added the word 'Scottish', inferring that there is something inherently wrong with that.
Just as if he'd said 'Pakistani idiot' or 'black idiot'.
The extra adjective isn't needed, even it is, technically, a statement of fact.
not to me hes just saying hes an idiot from scotland
For the sake of argument, what if he'd said "black idiot"
what if he had said South African idiot
Never back down? He's apologised already
Seems he doesn't have the same backbone as La Dame Thatcher
he didn't apologise for calling him an idiot, only for making reference to his eye
This is getting silly now.....is this really a racist statement? What if he's said a one eyed idiot from Scotland?? Is that better?
For the sake of argument, if Gordon Brown was black then he would have said
"one-eyed Scottish idiot"
As far as I recall, England and Australia are both free countries and you can say whatever about whomever you like.
If he said black idiot or south african idiot he would be lying, but he actually told the truth and the English have a hard time with that as we don't hear it from people on the TV often. I am going to register the website monocularscottishidiot.co.uk (oh yes, its available!) and have some mileage out of this. Why? Because I am democratically allowed to do so!
Were we to start arguing the necessity of the extra adjective we are treading the fine line that borders fascism. I prefer the C word, its the perfect embodiment of my utter contempt towards 'our leader'.
If Tolkein was alive now, I'm pretty sure GB's demonic caricature would inspire him to write another sequel to the Lord of the Rings series based entirely on him.
"Chief executive Lesley-Anne Alexander said: 'Mr Clarkson's description of Prime Minister Brown is offensive. Any suggestion that equates disability with incompetence is totally unacceptable."
Factually correct the "Scottish" or "one eyed" bit may be, but by putting them in he equates them with the "idiot" word. Otherwise why put those two words in and leave out all the other correct adjectives he could have used.
The race relations act says otherwise.
Separate names with a comma.
