I would rate Minority Report as just above average, but better than Spider Man.

For the most part, I thought it was OK. Some moments of brilliance but few and far between. The ending dragged on and on with twist after twist but one scene that completely turned my opinion round from liking the film to not liking it was:

That moment, along with a few others, destroyed all shreds of the seriousnes and underlying darkness from the first half of the film. And the sentimentality........please........

I felt the same way about MIB 2....pointless. Reign of Fire was
another film I saw recently and was ok.

Of all the films I've seen this summer I enjoyed the Bourne Identity and Frailty.

I thought MINORITY REPORT would of been far more credible if the pre-cog's had been played by Whoopi Goldberg, Gary Coleman, and Michael Jackson. I would of put PeeWee Herman in Tom Cruise's role too. Afterall, the film was obviously a comedy. If only it had been cast better, it could of been much funnier.:p

Gordon, you're right - utter RUBBISH.

It was pretty boring all the way through with effects thrown in just to wow you... PLEASE! The whole thing reminded me of Robocop, wasn't the baddy even the same guy?

Go see Austin Powers 3 instead - loads of fun!

I thought it was OK, but I wouldn't be tempted to buy the disc. I think only someone that had never seen it before would do that as, although the film kills a couple of hours without too much fidgeting, it's one of those that once you've seen it you can move on to something else without ever feeling the need to watch it again. I found it all a bit too simplistic. Thrillers always work best for me if they leave me wondering a bit at the end, so I go back and watch it again fairly soon to see if I can unravel some of the twists. This one didn't. It was too basic and the futuristic setting just seemed like it was trying too hard to be futuristic. A good modern thriller with that noir-ish feel would be something like LA Confidential, or Seven. Minority Report doesn't come close because it didn't take any risks, it was just Spielberg's typical by-the-numbers direction. I'm getting a bit bored of it now, it's like he can do "popcorn", he can do Schindlers List, but he can't do much else. I certainly don't see why the press compare it to Bladerunner (a work of flawed near-genius)

I agree thought it was crap. at first I just felt nothing but thinking about it I'm sure its just abysmal.

    Feccy,
I still go, I have a UGC Unlimitd card so I go about 5 or 6 times a month if I have the time (only been about twice a month recently, but my TV is broken at the moment so I have been twice in the last week).
