I've done a title search in this forum which helped a little but I just wanted to know the difference (if any) between the Amazon version priced at £15 -

Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray Region Free: Amazon.co.uk: Richard Attenborough, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Bob Peck, Steven Spielberg: Film & TV

and the HMV version, similarly priced

    Jurassic Park: Trilogy (2011): BLU-RAY: hmv.com

If you look closely the HMV version has "+Digital Copy" on the box but there is no mention of this in either seller's spec.

On the same subject, there is a box set with a T-Rex available also - £80 at HMV, £54.95 at Amazon but only £26.99 at Sainsburys

    TIA

The Amazon one and HMV at 15 quid are the same, there's no digital copy, HMV have made an error with their artwork. The more expensive one is a limited edition set, in a tin with additional art cards and other fluff.

I have that same set at Amazon (ASIN: B004KKXMSI converts to the barcode number 5050582830767 - the same as my copy) and it does have digi copies, it's also 6 discs not 3.

The listing on Play also has it listed as 6 discs with digi-copies

If they've changed the set to remove the digi-copies surely it would have a different barcode number?

It's also cheaper at The Hut at £11.45 though as it's listed as 'dispatched within a week' god knows when you would get it

Thanks guys. I prefer Amazon simply because I've paid for Prime. I'll give their £15 one a try and update when I get it :smashin:

You're right my mistake and embarrassingly I've also got the set and forgot it contains 6 discs. It shows how interested I'm in digital copies.

I feel the same way about with the digi-copies especially when they're on disc - it's waste of money.

Studios - dump them and knock a couple of quid off the price.:lesson:

The one without the digital copies also has better packaging imo. Proper case rather than a cardboard digipack.

Just to confirm that the Amazon one is a 3-disc version with no digital copies.

It has a cardboard outer cover with top and bottom open - is that a slip case or cover?

Slip case is what goes over the case and had the right side open for the case whereas, the more common slip cover has the top and bottom open for the case.

    Jurassic has a slip case.

Well the newer Jurassic Park release is in a standard amaray case with what you call a slipcover, I have always called them slipcases though as I have only ever seen a few that are open on the right side as you desribe.

I have always called the side loading ones slipboxes but in my opinion it doesn't really matter.

I wonder if spielberg is happy with the pq offered by the current JP blu-ray? Just seems a bit odd that Jaws gets the requisite tlc deserving of the title yet JP doesn't. Presumably this is all down to Universal?

He probably wasn't too worried as he is converting it to 3D for release next year so I am sure it will be re-released next year with a brand new transfer.
