New here so please be gentle.
Current system is 37" lg tv yamaha amp and b&w mt30 with pv 1 sw
Would like to hang a tv (32"+) on a stud wall. Along with a floating shelf system for the amp, dvd, youview box and a games console.
The mains socket is not where it needs to be and I would like to hide all the associated cabling that comes with a 5.1system.
Don't really want to go down the route of creating a floating wall on top of the stud wall but would like to keep the wall as it is.
My question is should I remove the plasterboard so I have enough access to put in some trunking and move (or run a spur) the 240v socket. Strengthen the studs so they can support a tv bracket and a floating shelf to support the amp etc.
I would then replace with new plasterboard and probably have the whole wall skimmed
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Sounds like you've got it sussed to be honest!
Make sure your new spur wiring confirms to regs. Get a sparky in if in any doubt.
