    Help me.
I've just won some money and my treat to myself is going to be a decent telly. I'm looking at forking out between 750 and 900 quid. I've got SKY+, a basic DVD and a crappy VCR so these last two don't need to be considered in any spec for a telly. Watching the footy and the movies are the important considerations. I'm looking at either 32 or 36 inch widescreen and these are the models I've been looking at.
    Thomson 32WB643
    FINLUX 82XMM310
    SONY KV-32FX68U
    SONY KV-32FQ86
    TOSHIBA-36ZP38
    JVC HV-32D40
and currently in the lead is
    LOEWE AVENTOS 3981ZW

Are there any there that I should be avoiding? Is there one clear favourite? Is there another of similar spec that I have missed?
This is a one-time-only opportunity for me to get a decent telly so any help is greatly appreciated. :lease:
    Cheers

Oh yeah, and the Philips 32PW9509 as well

Add Panny 32PD30 to list (provided you get a good one!)

Good luck and congratulations on the win.

Seeing as how I've already got Sky+, is there any point in me also trying to get a Panasonic DMR-E85HEB HDD/dvd recorder or is that just overkill.

    Nope, I would say not.
If you don't already have a DVD recorder, then you must get one! Especially as you have come into some money (lucky git!)
Your Sky+ is all well and good but you can't keep lots of programmes forever or burn them on to DVD to take round a mates house. A DVD recorder and Sky+ often go hand in hand anyway.
I have had a DVD recorder for almost 2 years and wouldn't go without one now (much to the dismay of my dust gathering VCR)
Just so you know, the Philips TV is a corker, I have one myself.

Good luck spending your spondoolah!! (If you need any help, let me know!)

(Niburu, didn't realise you knew my cousin!)

    Bigfathoss,

    Yes, that's the perfect combination.

    Go for it!
