    So, the summary is:

    1. $50 price cut

    2. Memory card "significant" price cut

    3. A bunch of new mega packs

    4. PS4 remote play demoed and looking very good

    5. New games:

    - Murasaki Baby
    - Borderlands 2
    - BigFest ..... which looks very cool
    - Football Manager ............. which is a Megaton announcement :smashin:

    6. A load of indie games

    - Rogue Legacy
    - Guns of Icarus
    - Wasteland Kings
    - Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

    Did I miss anything?

I thought it was a bit of a damp squib to be honest. My main hope is that the price cuts will boost sales and help get some big devs on board, as I'm not particularly interested in the indie stuff.

What, like Football Manager, Borderlands 2, Arkham Origins and Killzone Mercenary?

Murasaki Baby and BigFest aren't Indies either.

I really wish they would announce official UK prices as well as Euro's alongside an official date for these price drops.

Just personal opinion obviously, but here goes....

FM - no interest at all - sorry.
Borderlands 2 - this was the biggest announcement for me - hopefully will sell some systems, but is of no interest to me.
Killzone - not a new announcement, but again (IMHO) this is what the system needs (although I personally have no interest)
Arkham Origins - also not a new announcement. If this was a handheld version of the console Arkham Origins I'd be very happy, but sadly it isn't.

Murasaki Baby is the other title that looks good. BigFest - no thanks.

Tearaway is the only title I'm looking forward to at the moment, but hopefully more will come.

I think the Vita is a great platform for the indie stuff and really enjoying these types of games that I wouldn't play elsewhere. Games like TWA, Mutant Blob, Velocity Ultra and Limbo take me back to when I was young getting into gaming where it was more important to have 'fun' mechanics for a game than fancy visuals.

Don't get me wrong, I like fancy graphics and big budgets as much as the next guy but I guess the Vita just suits my lifestyle these days.

Some promising titles coming too. Can see Big Fest being bit of a mix of game and tool for finding new music (giving Sony a canny way of plugging their up and coming acts?), B2 I'll definitely pick up as not played either on home consoles, similar for FM and it seems another perfect fit for mobile gaming (I see people on the train playing versions of FM on their tablets regularly).

I'm a bit surprised we haven't had more ports like Borderlands 2 come across to the Vita. Surely it can't take that much effort for a game once it's been on PS3?

Overall I'd say it was a positive event for Vita. The price drop on hardware is welcome but it's the memory cards which most people have issue with (damn Sony and their love of proprietary!) and cutting the cost of these, along with more Mega Packs, has to tempt people who've been on the fence.

I like both big dev games and indie stuff. Mainly because the indies sometimes have better games than the big devs do.

I am pretty much the same. It seems about 80% off the games I play now on all formats are indie games.

Been thinking of getting one for a while and i think i'll finally take the plunge. Sony's commitment to the platform, PSN+ freebies, remote play with PS4 and finally the price cut on the memory cards have made my mind up. Might go and pick one up today. I doubt the wife will be impressed as conversation will become a distraction until the novelty dies off :)

Just placed a preorder with Game for Vita and Killzone Mercenary pack - using a code from HotDeals makes it £159.99. Possibly the 3G model with 8GB card included also.

Long wait now til Sept 6th ;)

Did they mention what the new mega packs will be?

I'm tempted to buy the current one at Amazon but will hold fire if there are some better ones down the line.

Picked up one today in Argos for £169 with the 10 game mega pack, might have got it cheaper online but just wanted to satisfy that instant purchase need. Once bought the missus then said that she assumed it this was a birthday present to myself (still a week to go). I said it is but as I'm a big boy now I was opening it tonight, I was then berated as it's our boys 5th birthday tomorrow and he couldn't open his presents early so it was unfair that I could and he'd probably get upset.

It's still sealed, guess I'm not such a big boy after all

ROFL. I never wait. If I get a present early I open it. Unless its from the kids. Then I'll wait for my handmade stick figure drawings.

But congrats on the present to yourself. I love ma Veets!

Was ready to press buy on Amazon last night but the other half has said no :( We have a household rule that all big purchases bar groceries are ok'd by each other.

Going to have to sell some stuff first before I can order it.

Hopefully wont be too long before I join the Vita club.

Or tell her to get out...

Jk. As much as I love ma Veets. My wife is the love of my life and I wouldn't trade her for anything.

(And no, she's not looking over my shoulder, lol)
