I have a budget of £1000 to spend on a high quality CD,AMP and SPEAKERs. I have a small listening room of about 3.5m by 2.5m which means floorstanders are out of the question. I listen to all types of music but particularly rock and pop. I like a bit of bass but I think any large speakers will be too much for my room. I like sweet treble but on the softer side without an harsh 'edge'

I currently have a NAD C370 which I can keep or sell. My current thoughts are:

Arcam 73t / Nad 542, Quad 11L, Dynaudio 42s using my existing amp. Are arcams a good match for NAD or will it be rather too smooth and boring.

OR a Kandy CD / AMP Mk1 combo 2nd hand.

What would you recommend either new or second hand?

    Thanks

If you want something that's definately not smooth or boring Exposure 2010CD and for speakers Monitor Audio S1 or S2 or up the budget by £50 and Acoustic energy's Aelite2 are worth a listen.
