The website that I linked to, Digital Connection, will ship to the UK. The shipping rate is very reasonable. I think it only costs about £15 delivery.

Yes, you do need the additional board - I have one!

This connects directly to your display and has nothing to do with your graphics card incidentally.

yeah mat it works alot like the sigma xcard I had for Playing movies, however I would be looking to dual output to the screen, using my gfx to connect to the DVI of my sharp GA3 to use for PC work, while outputting from the MYHD to a component switch box, I know DVI has a better PQ, 8 feet away from a 32 inch screen, its benefits arnt that noticeable, also the Sharp Tv's have a problem with 1080i via DVI not via component

The MyHD card will happily output component - and it looks excellent!

But does it do 1080i at 50 hz ? And will it be able to capture satellite stream from european HD satellite .
I inquired about the Fusion card and they said it only worked with american satellite broadcats.

I thought the Fusion was an ATSC 8-VSB receiver for use with american terrestrial digital, rather than US digital satellite systems?

For the Euro1080/HD1 HDTV broadcasts in Europe you need a DVB-S card - and also some means of decrypting. You can get a Technotrend or Hauppauge Nova-S budget with separate CI slot to mount a CAM (Conditional Access Module). This will allow you to receive - but doesn't output an HD signal.

For this you could use an ATI Radeon with Powerstrip or try to find a 1080/50i capable output card (haven't come across these. The XCard will output HD but only from a 576/50i source)

    HI,
    That is about my setup.
My point was that , as the Fusion, the MyHD card is also a capturecard for HD.
Something you won't be able to use overhere
