Can anyone recommend a very good coaxial digital cable to connect my dvd to my amp, it has to be 1,5m - 2,0m, and where I can order it. I have a pretty cheap vivanco one that I bought at a supermarket and it just doesn´t look that convincing to me.

I bought Ecosse Reference digital coaxial and it sings like never before.

Prices range from £20 - £150 per metre

    Regards

Thanks. Do you know where I can get it, I don´t live in the U.K. so an internet order would be good, or some well known store. Are they available in longer than 1m... i HAVE TO have 1,5m-2,0m. Why is it that coax cables always come so short but optical doesn´t.

I believe it has to do with the laws of physics and the design of coaxial cables. The further the signal goes, the weaker it gets. If you had a coaxial cable of about 50 metres, you would probably get almost no signal on the other end. Thats because the actual wire absobrs it all.

Optical is different because the light pulses can travel much faster, further and not get absorbed by anything at all.

    Hello Keyser,

2 metres is no problem for a decent digital coax cable.

As long as it is well terminated and uses good 75 Ohm cable, you will be OK.

    Mark.
