Does anyone know if the new Sammy le32m87bdx is 1080p?
hmm, odd. Robert Whyte say it is?

As a matter of interest, why do want 1080p in a 32"?
Retailers get the codes wrong on new products all the time, it's no surprise. There's absolutely no point in releasing a 32" 1080p unless you're using it as a giant computer monitor, and that's a pretty limited market.
It's a Playstation 3 Blu Ray issue. At the moment my current set is very poor with Blu ray (due to Sony's stupid decision to not support 720p), and a 37" would push me for space.
I'm only looking into it at the moment, hence my post here.
Also it would be nice to get 1080p from my PS3 and 360 (I'm thinking of "upgrading" to the Elite)
Sorry mate but you are not going to be able to tell the difference between 720p/1080p on a 32" set, no-one can. That's why they don't exist.
So just buy a 720p/1080i set!
I have just bought a 32" Toshiba32C3030DB which is advertised as a 720p/1080i TV yet the instruction book says it does 1080p and also when I connected my PS3 via HDMI it autodetected right up to 1080p.Superb picture anyway, though I am not really sure whether it really is 1080p.
I have a 720p/1080i set!!! I really don't see why you can't grasp the issue here. SONY DOES NOT SUPPORT 720P FOR BLU RAY!!! (on the ps3)
Guess you have a lousy scaler, which is unfortunate. However, since 32" 1080p panels don't exist, you have two options:
- buy another 32" set with a better 1080i scaler
- buy a 37" 1080p set
You want a set that accepts 1080p, not necessarily one that displays 1080 lines of resolution. Of which there should be many, as mentioned.
I'm not sure if it is as simple as that with the PS3.
