All right. I'll start by saying that I already placed an order on Sony's V40 LCD, but after reading about some of it's problems, I'm having second thoughts. Now, I could still cancel and get the PWD8 instead, but then again at least the PV500 has one big flaw: the picture is flickering. It's not always noticeable, and it's certainly not as bad as those 50hz CRTs, but still something that I'd hate to live with. So, is the PWD8 equally bad in this respect?
Secondly, is 852x480 enough for HTPC use? The plan is to watch DVDs using the computer (via DVI-HDMI-cable) and maybe later add a Playstation 3. How about HD-material? I've seen LG sets with this resolution produce a really nice picture with HD-material, and if these displays are compareable, then there's no reason to spend the extra 800 euro or so in a PHD8 (or V40 for that matter).
Thanks for your thoughts!
