A Few PSP Questions...

OK I'm thinking about selling my PVP (Archos AV500) and buying a PSP.
I just have a few questions.

1) Does the PSP play Divx files? (or would I have to convert).
2) If I wanted to attach an external hard drive (something like I saw in the paper, a 120Gb small hard drive which doesn't need to be powered), is it as simple and plug and play?
3) These homebrew games, how hard is this stuff?

I'm mainly going to use my PSP for films/mp3 player and the occasional game (more interested in only the GTA games), is it worth it?

Personally, I bought a GP2X for the films, music and odd games (well emulations). There's no need to mod it as it's already set to do what you want and all the stuff you need is free as opposed to "free"
