I was scheduled to meet my good long term friend Scott (snapper73 on here) in Torquay for our usual monthly shenanigans, photo chat, coffee, ham, egg and chips this weekend. As ever a got my usual collection of images of people, places and some reasonable landscape shots which stand up nicely. I love the light you get at the seaside on a bright autumn day. Crisp, sharp light that affords lovely sharp imagery and colours. We ventured down to Brixham where it was about as cold as it gets - seriously, too cold to even shoot.

Also popped along to Misfuds Cameras which was largely disappointing given that it was like the worlds largest jumble sale without prices. Crazy. It does not make you want to buy in there at all. In all the 5D2 cut the mustard today and my new 200mm performed rather well in all light. We ended the day with a nice street session - shot these with the 200mm F/2.8 prime.

    Also shot some landscape tomfoolery....

Took these in a small place called Yeoford between 7.00am and 10.00 am this morning. All shot on a 5D2 with Hi-tech filters and a cheap CP on the 17-40L.

I am now saving for a BW CP as I had a look at Scotts and it blew my mind! The odd spots on the last shot were caused by a werid effect as I was using blue tac to secure my filters and they were not tight enough. Best viewed on white due to the odd 16:9 ratio. Thanks for looking; regards to all.

I've seen your last landscape (6) shot on flickr, and thinks it's cracking - lots of elements all coming together (the way the snow is lit by the sun, the lead in lines, the sunburst and the clouds) in a great shot

All the others are ok, I guess :D

Joking aside, all very good, especially the skateboard shot, but that last one is my favourite.

    Liking the 'railway' landscapes :smashin:
#2 & #6 are probably my picks - great light on the snow. A sort of hybrid #6 with the train whizzing past would be perfect.

All very nice, but the lady smoking the cigarette is superb.
I like portraits that convey more than just an interesting face, this really makes you think about what sort of life this lady has has or stll has, great photograph Pete:thumbsup:

Thanks - I set 2009 aside as they year to shoot other things, rather than sat watching some blokes toss a rugby ball about and so far, so good. :) Long way to go however.

    Pete, please stop it.

You have too much talent and it shows.

#3 from the 1st set and #2 from the second - i'd kill for an ounce of it.

great stuff. Now bugger off back to rugby......please.
