    Hi all,

I have had Sky digital for over two years now and thus am free to cancel my contract. What I was wondering was, if I cancel my subscription would I then be eligible to sign up as a new member with a fresh installation? This way I would have an extra digibox which I can use in another room!

Anyone ever done this? What are my chances? I have found nothing in the small print to say that previous subscribers are ineligible for new installations. And even if this were the case surely It can be registered under another member of the households name?

I wouldn't post this if I thought it was unscrupulous in any way.

    Thoughts anyone?

This is probably the important bit from the Sky website :

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    2. Has your household benefited from an Interactive Discount in the past? For example, have you already bought a digital satellite system at £199, £159 or under Sky's free offer?
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The cheap deals are subsidised and are strictly one per household, not per person.

If you paid full price and didn't yet benefit from a subsidised deal then go for it, but if you've already been subsidised once then that should really be it.

    Mark

Is there no one else in your household who could get it put in, who could get away with saying they didn't live there before, ie friend, unmarried partner, etc? As long as the bills are paid, I can't see Sky doing that many checks.....

There is a grey area in as much as I live in an annexe and not the main address - it is not strictly a different address, but I might give it a try. ;)

If you want my advice, just apply for it and if you get caught out, pretend you have the intelligence of a small rodent. This has been my policy with many things. They just don't check you know. Anyway, what are they going to do, bang you up?

I decided against it in the end and just ordered a second digibox.
