    Guys,

Was just doing a random search on Google for 32pf9830, and found this:

    http://www.dcsat.co.uk/products_tv_item.asp?product_id=174

Looks like the price of the 9830 is dropping, even before it's been released! That is when you compare it to £2300 from Unbeatable. Looks like Unbeatable is.. er.. beatable after all :smashin:

Jimsan, I believe you're wrong with your price prediction for this set. At this rate, it should be available for about £1000 for launch ;)

    Oh look, a unicorn!!

Yeah, I as quite surprised to see it discounted before release! Quite a few folks have pre-ordered from DCSAT and they say their allocation is already well subscribed.

I still expect it to eventually settle between £1500 and £1600 in a few months time.

Hmmm.. this screen is looking very tasty... wander if it will suffer from the dreaded back light buzz problem..

Anyone know what the delivery price is from DCSAT?

Well, the backlight in this one is entirely different from the 9986, so there is a chance that it'll either not buzz at all.....or....might be worse! Doubt it though...

    Entirely different? How?
Other than it will be working in "stereo" I haven't heard of any differences compared to the 9986?

I'm referring to the backlight, not the Ambilight.

The backlight on the 9830 is going to scan behind the display in order to add another layer to the picture control. This'll have two effects. It'll effectively speed up pixel response and improve the detail in black scenes.

Rolighed, you're right about the Ambilight, it will be pretty much the same as it is now, but will be in stereo.

    Stereo light....whatever next....
