    Hi folks,
My brand new all singing all dancing laptop arrived today and to my amazement it does not have a serial port which of course is used for the Philips 940.
After talking to the extremeley helpful chap at Lets Automate, he said try buying a USB to Serial convertor. He told me he has had reports that sometimes the convertor works and sometimes not.
Anyone experienced this, does the convertor work ? if so what did you do?
    Help much appreciated!! :)

ProntoEdit will only work on COM1, so if you can change the adapter settings then it should work.!?

You may laugh at me, but when I was at the latest and greatest Star Trek Conference in Liverpool, I got chatting to a guy called Graham about Com Port Configurations and we did cover the area you are querying (as well as their evolution into the 24th Century and how they are included on the Enterprise NCC1701-D but not on the NCC1701-E. This was a shock as it is the best ship and Sovereign Class!)
