Hi Guys - I have a viewing distance of 8-9 feet. I had hoped to get a 42" plasma (hitachi 7200 - the motorised swivel stand would be VERY useful for me and I want HD ready). Is my viewing distance too close for a 42"?

I know it is all subjective but I would like to hear your thoughts.

If I am forced down the 37" route is the pv500 my best bet? I could not see a 7200 37" version anywhere.. =/

8-9 feet is ideal for a 42" IMO.

I'm sure most people on this forum would say that 42" IS JUST FINE AT 9'.

When was the last time you heard someone say that his plasma was too big?

For optimum viewing you need to be a minimum of 2.5 times the TV measurement away from the screen:-

    i.e for 37" sets, you need you be (2.5 x 37") = 92.5" ... roughly 7' 8"
    42" sets, (2.5 x 42") = 105" ....or, about 9 ft.

    and so on.
