I need an 8M low level phono lead for a Rel Q150. I really don't want to pay RussAndrews style prices on this.

What is a good compromise between price & quality (emphasis leaning towards the price this time to be honest!).

    Thanks for any help,

    Mark Ward.

    Hi Mark

I use Chord Chrysalis for mine, works out about 10 quid a meter.

    Available here

    www.chord.co.uk

    or try

    www.qed.co.uk

They should have subwoofer cable as well (or be able to make one up)

    cheers

Do you need special sub cable for this phono to phono then?

I understand that the high level cable (don't know what it's called - sorry) that comes with the Rel is already 10M long, but I thought you just needed and analogue phono lead for the sub's low level input. I'm using an IXOS £15 job with my <cough> <cough> erm... Yamaha  current sub. The Rel will have to sit elsewhere in the room hence the need for a longer lead.

    Mark,

You can get Ixos 108 sub cable for around £20 or so. Not sure on quality though.

The cables I got with my Rel were a 5m phono to phono cable (dual cables) and the High Level (neutrik) connector, I cant remember the exact length but I dont think its as long as 10m (more like 3 or 5).

You could use a normal interconnect, thats all the Chrysalis is, it was the cheapest in their range and thats what they recommended, the cable is only carrying bass signals so its not as critical as a CD interconnect for example (some may argue otherwise!!).

    cheers

Mozzer's suggestion has fit the bill perfectly.

    Ixos 1081 - 9 Metre cable @ £19.99 In-Staock at 7/Oaks HiFi.

That'll do me! I'm going to get one on my way home today.

    Cheers everyone!

I phoned Rel yesterday and the woman told me that the lead supplied was 10M. If this isn't the case I'll need to be ordering one of these as well as the lead needs to be at least 8M for my system.

Thanks! I was think that 10M is a surprisingly generous length for an included cable.
