8ft wide widescreen image with projector 8.8 feet away - possible ?

    Title says it all really.

    If the lens of a LCD or DLP projector is say 8 feet 8" away from the screen, is it possible to get an image about 7 feet wide on screen (in widescreen mode)

    If you have the correct focal length of lens, yes. Not sure which manucturers offer such lenses but I'd look at JVC D'ILA'S to start.

    If you use an ISCO II anamorphic lens you'll get an extra 33%. My Plus U3/ISCO II combo does 7-8ft wide from 8.8 feet away. So it can be done.
