i can not seem to get 720p through my television on the virgin v+ box.i have tried every way even through component .i can get a hd signal of 1080i but no joy with 720p.Now i know my television can handle 720p because i have a upsacalling dvd player that runs at 720p 0r 1080i and the picture is fantastic.virgin keep on telling me that they dont supprt dvi or component and are not willing to help me out on this ,after about 20 phone calls.my television is the hitachi 42pd5200.When i cange to 720p the screen say`s invalid freq .I know my television can accept 50-60-hrz .i have 1 dvi port .1 scart socket,2 component ,2 rgb one of these has currently a dvi in the other rgb i have not tried beacause i dont have the lead yet and is analoge.1 d-sub 15 pin connector which is rgb and 1 vga port.Which is the best way to connect and sort this problem out.:(

I have the 37 inch version of your TV.

For 720p the manual only lists 60hz support.

For 1080i it lists 50 and 60hz.
