Does anyone know if Infocus would be able to upgrade my 7205 projector by replacing the DC2 chip with the DC3 one. I read somewhere that another projector manufacturer was doing this for about £80.00. Optima I think?!

I ask because I paid £5,000 for my machine about 3 weeks before they announced the arrival of the 7210 for less money!

I am far from unhappy with my current picture but any improvement would be welcome if it didn't involve spending megabucks.

    Regards

    Megson,

In theory there would be nothing to stop Infocus offering an upgrade I just cant recall reading about anyone who has done this with their infocus. E-mail them and ask the question.

Projectiondesign offer an upgrade from DC2 to DC3 however the cost is in excess of £1000 from memory.

The £80 upgrade from Optoma was not a chip change; it was more a software change for the H77, which has now become the H78.
