If your after the 'at the movies' in your face type effect then yes for some 7' is acceptable - I have seen a few 42" displays in small rooms (sitting at the end of a bed in a bed sit was the smallest) and whilst its not for everyone its not the end of the world either.

And of course we do have the 'in your Jacuzzi' option - which is definitely not 7' away if your sharing the Jacuzzi :)

See http://products.jacuzzi.com/nd/WpbProdInfo.d2w/MAIN > Private Collection > La Scala

    Best regards

    Joe.

We sit 9 feet from the Hitachi 32 incher and it seems right to me - a 42 inch model would be too big imho

I sit 9ft away from a 37" panny, ideal compromise IMO.

I sit 8ft away from my 42pma400 and i think its great . As long as you have a good pic, no artifacts ect, then 7' is ok.
