    Hi Guys

    I will be installing my speakers in a dedicated HC room next week, if possible I would like to position the speakers in a 7.1 setup.

    My room is 15ft long by 8ft (garage conversion).
    My seating position will be 11ft into the room length.

    I intend to have a rear left and right (surround), what’s the best position for the other two centre rear speakers (for 7.1)?

    Should I place the two centre rear’s above my seating position (2ft above ear) on the side walls pointing at me or in the ceiling firing down at me?

    Equipment already purchased –

    B&W CWM500 two sets (two rear speakers and two centre speakers)

    Mainly watching plasma for Sky+ and Ellie 7ft electric screen with AE500 for movies.
    Other speakers are –
    Denon 3803
    B&W DM603 S3 (front)
    LCR60 (centre)
    Vibe Alpha 2 Sub

    Any advice is appreciated.
    :)

    I intend to use the following layout -

    RL.............................................RR (mounted on side walls)

    ................RC.............LC..............

    (for RC/LC will install in ceiling firing down or on side walls, which is best?, please advise)

    ......................Sofa...................

    RL = rear left
    RR = rear right
    RC = right center
    LC = left center

    Should RC/LC be in between R/L and RR (same level?)

    Any advice?

    Don't know what some purists may think but I've got my Gallo rear left/right above seating position and fixed to side walls. The rear centre left/right are mounted on Gallo stands that are at ear level and behind seating. I'm very happy with this set up. Not sure if having centre rears at ceiling level pointing down would work so well and think they may get lost with the rear left/right.

    I've only come across them at ear level when demoing stuff.

    Hope this helps :)
