Does anyone know for sure if the 6th Day is RCE encoded , I'm awaiting my copy and I am now worried that I might not be able to play it!!!!

If I set my Pioneer 737 to R2, I get a map of the world. I think this means its RCE but I've no way of being sure, 'cos if I set it to R1 it plays this, and every other disc (including R2 and R4 items) in my collection just fine.

I got my copy of 6th day region 1, I can't play it on my modified sony 735 region 2. It plays on my computer at work. I am really annoyed. what can I do? What is RCE anyway? is it another kind of coding? why don't retailers tell us of the coding?

Sorry for the bad vibes. does anyone know af answers to these questions?

    Thanks, Marc

All of my usual suppliers have stated it's an RCE disc since it appeared for preorders. It's in their best interest to let the customers make an informed choice of whether to buy or not.

thanks for your replies, i spoke to my person who did the mod. & I've sorted it out, I can now play RCE's - (what a pain in the neck these region codes).

Rambo, what suppliers are you using? I'm using a few from Canada, they seem quite cheap but slow on the shipping, so I'd like to get some more choices.

Well I use a fair spread which include

    absound.ca
    amazon.com
    dvdboxoffice.com
    directvideo.com
    lasersedge.com
    cduniverse.com
dddhouse.com(for Hong Kong titles. Much better and cheaper than Poker Industries)
    videoflicks.com

And a few others that have escaped me at the moment. Delivery times don't really worry me too much as long as they don't go past 2 weeks, I order that many discs that there's always something new coming each week anyway. I've got about 30 discs ordered/preordered that'll show up before the end of June so the last thing I want is for them all to come at once as my lady would be spoonfeeding me my unmentionables

Have you used www.dvdpricesearch.com? If not, they're an invaluable first stop when ordering direct from the US or Canada. I'd imagine you already know that one though.

    Hope this helps
