Just building myself a new PC & now looking for a monitor, been using a 15.4inch laptop for a while & really like the the widescreen format. My question is can the 6600GT attain a resolution of 1680x1050 (via DVi) which is the optimal res of the 20inch wide monitor I'm looking at? Not a cheap bit of kit so I obviuously want to use it at it's native res rather than top/bottom/side bars....

    Any idea's??

    Cheers

I think it will be ok. You should get a list of the supported resolutions from the manufacturers web site. ISTR that my 6800LE will go that high, if not higher. You may be safer getting the 256Mb version.

I'm sure Lisa will be along soon to confirm.

It'll certainly go that high (actually higher) but it's the actual 1680x1050 I'm a bit worried about. Can't find it on the web site either....Tis too late for the 256mb version as I already have the 128mb one )

Thanks for the response, will keep looking.
