I have this TV for several months now and last week i purchased a samsung hw-q90R harmon kardon dolby atmos soundbar. The TV is running on the lastest firmware which i got 3 days ago what added DTS-FI, the soundbar also uses latest firmware.
All devices are connected using HDMI (arc)

Trying now for several days to get any dolby atmos sound without any luck.
Contacted samsung support and they stated that it is the TV whats is not sending any dolby atmos signals which it could process.

I tried to play dolby atmos movies from disney+, amazon prime, kodi and plex (all apps on the TV) and also from a usb drive connected to the TV. All content is 100% sure it has dolby atmos sound.
But what i try there is never any dolby atmos signal according to the soundbar.
The i connected a raspbery PI4 directly to the soundbar (hdmi 2 port) and played 1 of the demo movies and it displayed dolby atmos in the display and played it without any problem, so the soundbar does indeed work and play dolby atmos.
That same demo movie i tried playing from the TV but no dolby atmos (i do get picture and sound but no atmos sound)

I contacted Philips for support and i got a reply that it is a firmware/software bug from the TV, they confirmed this by E-mail.

This is the Email (in Dutch) which i received today from Philips support:

Max

Does anyone also can confirm that they also have no atmos sound from there TV on an external sound system?

I’m convinced that TP Vision software engineers purposely introduce bugs in their firmware, just to keep themselves in a job with the subsequent ‘fix’

I am uk based.I can confirm dolby atmos working using shield tv pro with yamaha avr and 53pus7304.
Probably your problem is compatibility of samsung soundbar with Philip's tv.Or it is due to the latest firmware changes on tv that is not compatible with the soundbar and samsung need to update their firmware. You need someone who has same devices as you to confirm there is an issue with atmos.I would say Philip's firmware is not the culprit in this case.

I can confirm that behavior too. I got the same Soundbar, but a 65PUS7354. At least with the last update the soundbar connects correctly at startup, that was only in 40% of the cases before.
All others here use external sources, but no one use the internal apps. I think we can state at the moment from the TV or its apps itself you don’t get Atmos.
Best regards
Alex

The main reason why I dont use internal apps is because they dont support atmos. The exception may be Netflix if you are on the top tier.I dont have the top tier so I dont know if it supports atmos on that level. Also external devices have more power for streaming. That said the internal apps are pretty good to be fair.

Hi! I have a Philips 6754/12 and i don't ser the dolby atmos option on the Netflix app, with a 4k Netflix plan. Do you guys know how to make It work? Or there isn't dolby atmos support (according to the TV there is).

You will only get atmos support if you have avr or soundbar that supports it.I have not got netflix 4k but on disney+ the dolby atmos info on the chosen movie will only be there if you have connected to a soundbar or avr that supports atmos. If not it shows dd 5.1.
