    Hi all,

    Hope someone can help.

I've a Pioneer 656A bought from Richer Sounds as a multiregion model (it verifies this with a sticker on the box!)

I have it feeding my TV via a scart lead from the RGB output. The unit is linked to my YAM RDS 630 with a Profigold coax.

Region 2 DVDs are fine BUT region 1 discs are only black & white on screen (the audio is fine).

Can anyone advise on how to rectify this.

    Many thanks & best wishes.

It sounds like your tv doesn't accept an ntsc signal only pal which will result in the b + w picture

Yup, I'm not familiar with this player but check that ntsc isn't selected in the players menu. Most players convert ntsc to pal 60, or even pal 50 in some cases!

If not you can always buy a little black box which will convert the ntsc signal for you.

Or check your TV (what is it by the way) give us the model code & we can probably tell you if it is NTSC compatible..check settings in TV, if set to PAL then select AUTO, and no more probs..
