625p.. What does this mean?

    Hi Guys

    My DVD player is set to 720 X 576p via HDMI but, my plasma displays 625p when i want to play a DVD..... any reasons?????

    Yes. It's the same signal. Remeber our TV is '625 lines' ? the 49 lines 'missing' are used to carry other information, and frequently garbage. Only 576 lines are active picture lines. So call it whichever you like, both are right.
