can anyone give me the low down on '60gb HDs that are upgraded to 2TB'

are these hardrives that have been tinkered to show 2tbs and are really on 60gbs? or are they legitimately 0gb hardrives where the 60gb storage has been swapped for a 2tb drive?

anyway to actually get 2tbs of storage from one of these drives?

    cheers guys

    Some context might be helpful.

Generally if it's substantially cheaper than you can buy the 2TB drives then it's a scam of some sort or another.

If it's a similar price then it may have had the internal drive swapped out for a 2TB one but if it's a similar price then why go for one? Unless you particularly like the enclosure then a new one from a reputable shop is likely to be less of a risk.

    Need more info.

Usually you get fake drives but i've seen most of them with USB drives. With them they put the firmware to show its bigger.
