Simple question - how much should I be paying for a 60G PS3, please, what with the imminent release of 160G PS3?
Take it the 60gb is second hand? If so it depends on thekind of chance you want to take.
The 60gb version was slightly different to the current 40/80gb models (card reader/a couple more usb ports/ps2 game compatibility) so I guess it depends on how important these features are to you.
As for the 160gb being a premium because of it's hdd size remember that you can upgrade the PS3 hdd for very little money. A 160gb 2.5" sata drive is about £36 at scan.
Personally I very rarely use the additional features (and only the card reader at that) of my 60gb PS3. If I was to buy now I would get the cheapest I could find (new) and put a bigger hdd in it.

So they were loosing money on it , what did the manager say?My local gamestation had a sign up saying the 60 gig was £249 (used) but I dont know if they had any in stock.
I know this because they had another sign up saying they were giving £301 trade for a 60 gig and I wondered why, and asked their manager!

I don't mind loosing the PS2/SACD playback, as i've never used it. Bummer about lack of USB ports and loss of memoary card slots but i can buy a USB Hub. Biggest loss would be the chrome finishes.
It may be worth loosing them in order for a silent console
Ah, that explains it. My best bet seems to be to sell my PS3 on ebay for £300 (maybe more as some go for £450) and buy a new one instore. It's a shame as there's not another possibility to get another 60GB
They told me to sling my hook because even though the console i currently have is one of their replacement consoles, the one i originally bought from ebay is out of warrenty and they want £200 for a replacement
I said i was singed to continous play and they still weren't having it for some reason.
The console is not faulty but it's too lould to me as it's all happened since having playTV installed and using the console for LONG periods of time.
I'm going to call again in the morning and try again. I've only just taken out Continous play but surely i'm covered from day 1 even if i call the day after taking out the policy
