6 Series Panasonic in Canada question

Hi Guys,
Talk about lucky git, but I'm emigrating to Canada at the end of the year and I can't wait :D
One thing that's worrying me though is that I bought a new 6 series Panny in November (talk about thinking ahead eh!?!  ) and I'd love to take it with me. Obviously the voltage is differnet over there, so I guess the first question is, is there a voltage switch or something simular like there is on my amp? (I've had a quick look but it's attached to the wall!). Alternativly does anyone know if it's possible to buy a new 'power pack', guessing it could be simular to the way the input boards pull in and out of the expansion slots?!?
Then there's the different modes PAL/NTSC etc, I'm a bit of a dummy here, I know the Panny can cope with NTSC but is there anything else I need to take into account for the North American TV/DVD modes?!
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

i`m not sure what the canada /uk money conversion is like. is it as good as the usa/uk at the moment. but i would be tempted to sell the panny 6 over here and with the money buy new when you are there.

might be better for warranty issues aswell.

sorry cant answer your questions.

That's a very good point mate. The $ conversion is excellent (at the mo) about $2.5 to the £, so it is worth thinking about doing it that way. Cheers.

Be wary though that if you buy a plasma in North American, it may not be quite so good for bringing back to Europe.

In the same way that we've had multi-format televisions like forever, but most US models are still 60Hz only, plasmas are similar in that European models have good PAL support with internal frame buffers supporting 50Hz as well as 60Hz many new models have 100Hz display modes to remove PAL flicker. This PAL support may well be lacking from US models, which may be limited to 60Hz.

My plasma's service manual shows whole circuits not present on North American model.
