    Hi,

I have a 5.1 system with Dolby® Digital-, DTS®- en Dolby® Pro Logic® II-decoder. On some of my dvd's, there is a 6.1 dts version available, and of course a normal 5.1 version. Witch one should I choose, knowing I have only have a 5.1 system, buth with a DTS decoder.

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Just the 5.1 version, you need an extra speaker to utilise 6.1 sound - if you are given that option. I have not seen this option before. However, if say for example Lord of the Rings Extended has a 5.1 DD sound and a 6.1 DTS sound you would pick the 6.1 DTS. This is because DTS 6.1 is down gradable, so if you play it on a 5.1 system it will just play under that system.

As a rule of thumb, DTS is a superior sound to DD (in my opinion) and I would choose this over DD.
