M having a problem with the steering, bizarrely it's heavy when turning sharp left

I've taken the headlight out and had a look at the electric PAS pump and it looks OK, no kinks in the pipe or leaks, the fluid is at the max mark

Before I go down the £600 new pas pump is it likely to be anything else

Most of the time it's fine but when I pull into the close where I live I do a sharp left turn to reverse on the drive , it's like the PAS isn't working at all as you get towards full lock, turning right to full lock and it's fine

    Weird

Could be some component thats broken so when turning left is rather catching or not turning properly. An example would be top strut bearing

I don't think anything is bent or damaged as it doesn't do it all the time, it's looking like the pump

Thanks for the advice though :)
