I am planing to buy a new Sony TV and I am in between xf90 and xg95.

I know xf90 has more motion settings controls and more static contrast.

Which one do you think I should go for.

    Thanks in advance.

They are essentially the same set in terms of the actual picture quality. The XG has some newer technology but if you aren't fussed about that and its picture quality that is your main driver, save your money and get the XF9005.

For me, motion is very important. I have a Sony 42w829b and the motion on that set is not good at all there are no motion control settings.

AFAIK Xg95 has less motion control than Xf90 but I don't know how that will effect the motion on Xg95.

On the other hand xg95 have the flagship processor, brighter screen, better 1080 input lag and possible android pie update.

I guess not much time now for xf90. Its already out of stock in John Lewis.

Are you looking at the 49" model? My understanding is the 55" and 65" options were continuing throughout 2019. All reviews I've seen match the two sets at a very similar point in terms of PQ and motion. If you're not in a rush maybe wait until the black Friday sales and hope the XG95 drops further. There were some great discounts on Sony sets around that time 2018.

Thanks, maybe the best is to wait for the back Friday deals. But what abouth the missing cinema home and pro options on Xg95 do you think that will effect the picture quality also cine mation is off or auto on xg95?

I use custom mode but many with the XF use the cinema modes. I have no idea why Sony have reduced the options on the XG it doesn't make sense to me but it seems they are dumbing down their LCD sets an have been since the XE9305 year. If you're not in a rush I'd wait until back Friday and see how low the XG goes.
