Hi,
I have read the guides and trawled through the messages but as it has been quite a while since I have researched this topic I have found myself lost in a world of jargon, confusing model numbers and new brands!

This for my daughter who has a Currys voucher (insurance company insisted),
a budget of £600 (possibly stretch a little if it is worth it),
the wall space can cope with 55 or 58",
mainly viewing Netflix and Prime and viewing angle is not so much an issue.
no gaming, no sports.

I would appreciate the collective help from this forum to help me make a recommendation to her.

I narrowed it down to:
1. Hisense 55A7GQT
2. LG 55UP8000
3. Samsung UE55AU7100
4. Philips 58PUS9005

I am leaning towards the Hisense or Samsung, but no real rational reasoning to justify this.

Thanks.
K

The Philips being a 2020 model is marginally higher spec than the others and is probably the best choice. Especially since it will be using a VA type panel, whereas the Hisense and LG will be using IPS.

The Samsung is also a good choice, but its the lowest spec in their range.

New models always come with a premium this time of year, so for that reason alone I'd go for the 2020 Philips personally.

Thank you - I remain stunned by the helpfulness on this site. For now the Philips is the winner.
