55" LED 3D TV: Sony, Philips or Samsung?

Standard Member

I am looking a 55" LED TV to replace my current Plasma Samsung, 5 year old.

After reading and reading the forum, I have narrowed down my choices to Sony, Philips or Samsung, but I cannot figure out which one.

My "candidates" now are :

  • Sony KDL-55EX725 ** good price **
  • Sony KDL-55NX720
  • Samsung UE55D6530 ** popular **
  • Philips 55PFL7606 ** ambilight -> good or bad feature ? **

Important for me is a good image quality for SD (some channels I watch are still in SD) and HD TV (mainly sports); and also playback of divx Hi-def files.

Youtube and Skype are nice to have features, but not a must.

3D is not important at all, but nowadays I guess it is almost standard in the new TVs, so no harm on having it! :smashin:

Also I put the Panasonic TX-P50VT30 in my list, plasma... Better choice than the rest of the pack?

So, any hint that might help me decide would be very welcome.

Thanks and sorry if this thread is duplicate to another one, but I could not find my answers so far, even after several hours of reading...
