Only a theoretical question because I don't know how a conversation with Sony will go on Monday. However it transpires they maybe trying to swap out my faulty TV with an inferior model.

So image you've been using a 55XE9305 for the past 5 months and have really enjoyed it. You purchased this because you were worried about OLED burn-in. Maybe you can be convinced that isn't an issue and you'll look again. But that doesn't change your choice from 5 months ago.
Suddenly your 55XE9305 is taken away from you and in it's place is £1300.

Your requirements haven't changed - 55" TV for use with SkyQ & PS4 Pro initially, UHD BR potentially forthcoming.

How do you spend that £1300?

The problem is there aren't any competitive choices against OLEDs like there was with the XE9305.

You are looking at the XF9005, which in some ways is better than the XE9305 but not with HDR.

Or you are looking at the Samsung models like the Q8DN or Q9FN which will be more similar but cost a lot more.

Burn in isn't something to be ignored but it also doesn't affect most people. Unless you have abnormal viewing patterns it shouldn't be an issue, certainly people game hours at a time of on them no problem but its how often you do that with the same content that matters too. I wrote about it here: My best value TVs, 2017 Edition

So basically, I would go for the LG B7. But if I didn't want OLED I would go for the XF9005 but I would not pay more than £1100 for it...so hopefully getting the cash back would be possible for you.

Edit* just seen your other thread with your options. I would go for the larger 65XE9305 or 55A1 OLED.

    Thank you for the reply.
I didn't want to pollute another thread with what I've currently got going on with Sony.
I am hoping during the conversation with them tomorrow they will admit the XF9005 isn't quite as good as my XE9305 and offer a different alternative.
If not I may pursue accepting the XF9005 and looking for a rebate in the region of £300.
If all else fails, and I end up with £1300 in my pocket - I'll take another look at the LG's from last year.

    Cheers.

Yer, I had a watch of that. It kind of confirmed my fears that the XF9005 they were offering me as swap for my XE9305 wasn't in my best interest.
I'm awaiting a call back from Sony within the next 24hrs. Going to push for either:
    65XE9305
    55AF8
55XF9005 (and asking for £300 rebate as that is the premium I paid for XE9305 over XE9005)
