50pc55 assistance needed

Standard Member
My parents LG 50pc55 seems to be having a little technical difficulties. The television itself seems to be in working order , but the process of turning it on is becoming slightly tiresome

The tv when originally switched on will automatically switch itself off 2 or 3 times , then on the later attempts actually switch on , but with no sound . Now another 2 attempts seems to bring life into the set and a picture is now available . Too say its slightly annoying is a bit of an understatement . Looking online seems to be a bit awkward as this model may have been an exclusive for certain sites

Anyway they phoned LG , not knowing the in's and out's they offered them a package that essentially was £400 and guarenteed the television for a year . If the repair itself was over £400 they would reimburst the subscription ? . Is this probably the best option too take or is there any better options such as independent repairers . Or even if anyone has came across such a problem and knows of a remedy

Thanks for you time :smashin:
