Hi

Recently I purchased a used Toshiba 43 inch 4K TV. The model number is 43V6763DB. This is a smart tv with features like HDR10. I also own a pc with a R7 250x 2GB DDR5 graphics card with HDMI and DVI-I out and a Lenovo Y50 laptop with GTX 960M graphics card. I assume my PC's graphics card and the lenovo y50's HDMI output are both version 2.0. Now when I connect using a standard hdmi cable [not 2.0] I am getting 4K at 25hz/30hz only. When resolution is set to Full HD I am able to get 50Hz/60Hz. Now I am yet to try connecting with a HDMI 2.0 cable but before doing that I wanted to know whether this TV can output 50hz/60hz 4K through hdmi or can only output at 25hz/30hz at 4K only? The TV was advertised as having 60hz but it was not mentioned whether this 60hz applied to 4k as well. The tv's online manual doesnt address this issue either.

Any replies appreciated

Dont think so.
As far as I know , both are early 2014 models with HDMI 1.4 so both limited to 4k/uhd at 30 fps max.

Yeah, neither the GM107 chip powering the GTX960 nor the Cape Verde chip in the R7 250X support HDMI 2.0. They do both support 3840x2160@60hz output, but only through DisplayPort. If the machines have a DisplayPort output then you could use a converter.

There's no such thing as an HDMI 2.0 cable by the way, it's just misleading marketing from certain cable sellers.
